School is back in session following winter vacation and the students at Hanaford have big plans for the new year. They had a lot to say about their New Year’s resolutions.

Third graders Nathan Finder and Mia Forbes from Mrs.Morris’ classroom have many goals.

Mia said, “I’m trying to fill up my reading log, which is twenty-five books.” Mia is also trying to get better at defense in basketball and be a stronger player. Mia says that she wants to get her butterfly stroke in swimming and she’d like to come in first place instead of third place. She also wants to become a neater writer.

Nathan said “I want to get better in reading.” Nathan also wants to improve his handwriting so that Mrs. Morris can understand it. When it comes to football, Nathan would like to see improvement. He would like to throw incompletions in football and be a better quarterback.

Fourth grader Emma Manzo from Mrs. Cerro’s class said, “I want to get a no-hitter (in baseball).”  Emma wants to improve in math. Emma also wants to win at least one game in the Cape Cod tournament for basketball, Another one of Emma’s goals is to make a scrapbook of the things that she did in 2016.

Fifth grader Andy Blake wants to get better at the calendar. Andy uses touch-chat on his iPad to get things such as days, months, and years . Andy loves to help his mom, and would like to help his mom with taking out the recycling and grocery shopping. He also wants to get better at juggling and get better at off the wall. Andy also wants to spend more time with his friends in Ms.Bose’s classroom. Andy works on everything that a fifth grader does, but in a different way.
